Artificial intelligence and the rule of law
The National School of Judges of Ukraine invites everyone to join an open online course on artificial intelligence and the rule of law, developed by UNESCO and The Future Society with the support of Cetic.br|NIC.br, the National Judicial College (USA) and IEEE SA.
The online course on artificial intelligence and the rule of law is an introductory course that engages representatives of the judiciary in a global and timely discussion on the application of artificial intelligence and its impact on the rule of law. The course consists of six modules and explores the opportunities and risks associated with the spread of artificial intelligence technologies in justice systems, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on the administration of justice, particularly in the context of human rights, ethics and artificial intelligence governance.
The course was made possible thanks to the generous support of UNESCO's Multilateral Programme on Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists (MDP) and the Open Society Foundations.
It builds on the ongoing work of the UNESCO Judges Initiative, which has trained more than 23,000 judicial system professionals since 2014. Through publications, toolkits, and online and offline training, the initiative builds the capacity of judicial system personnel to address new challenges and protect fundamental human rights and freedom of expression
The course also reflects the ability of the Athens Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law to stimulate and jointly develop initiatives that have a real practical impact on a global scale, as well as serving as a multilateral forum that promotes international dialogue on artificial intelligence policy in support of human rights and democratic governance. The roundtable is organised by The Future Society and UNESCO, as well as other international organisations and corporations.
The course is available for registration online at any convenient time at the following link:
