On February 5, 2026, the National School of Judges of Ukraine and the Supreme Court of North Carolina (USA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, initiating a long-term partnership in the field of judicial education and professional development of judges. The document was signed by the rector of the NSJU, Mykola Onishchuk, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, Paul Martin Newby.

The memorandum lays the foundation for closer cooperation in the training and professional development of judges through the introduction of modern methods of judicial education and professional dialogue between the judicial institutions of Ukraine and the United States.
Key areas of cooperation include the exchange of experience in the development and implementation of modern training programs, the joint organization of seminars, conferences, round tables, and forums, conducting research and analysis of best practices in judicial education, as well as the exchange of information and discussion of current challenges in the activities of judicial systems.
The modern model of cooperation is aimed at improving the professional level of judges in both countries, deepening the understanding of modern approaches to the administration of justice, and strengthening international ties between judicial systems.
The memorandum provides for cooperation until the end of 2028 and lays the foundation for the consistent implementation of joint initiatives aimed at integrating international standards into the training programs of the Ukrainian judicial education system.
